Dealing with a head cold last week; I had to push myself to keep going each day. I wanted to stay in bed and sleep the sickness away. Boy do I wish I was rich enough to just shut off my phone, ignore my emails, and forget about all my bills. Unfortunately that’s not my life and I have to work when I’m sick. I used a lot of mental strength to get me through each day, determined to do my best as if I was healthy. Telling myself this too shall past and I’ll be back to my normal self soon enough. Thinking positively about my sickness and how this will only make me stronger. If I can continue to do my best I’ll prove to myself that I can do what ever I set my mind to.
I’m about 90% better. My love for seeing myself succeed is undeniable and I’m not stopping until, I can ignore my emails or the world because I’ll have freedom of time and money.
“Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.”-Miguel Ruiz

How do you plan on starting your Monday me?
Good friends are hard to find, solid ones are rare, and trusting them can be challenging. When you have supportive friends that you can call on in your life it’s a blessing. Feeling overwhelmed and lonely, I reached out to a childhood friend to console me. As soon as my girlfriend picked up and asked how I was, she immediately knew I wasn’t doing well. I started crying. I knew I could release my emotions to her without judgement. I told her through sobs and tears what was bothering me. She listened and right away I felt better. She told me “you’re a strong woman, and people think you can handle everything because you’re strong, I’m sorry I haven’t been there for you and I will do better.” Hearing those words made me realize how much I missed her being in my life and why she’s one of my best friends. She understands me and knows that I’m a sensitive person, who needs a little love every now and then. As women we carry our stress as weight on our shoulders; fearing if we express ourselves others will twist our emotions and use them against us.
I’m very thankful to have true friends in my life. They helped me develop who I am today. Even when we think we don’t want to worry others with our problems, it’s best to reconnect with your loved ones. Encourage each other and support one another. That one phone call helped bring my confidence back and I felt loved again. I thank the special people in my life who support me and believe in me. You guys mean the world to me. To my followers who read my blog posts, thank you for the support and I pray I will help you in anyway I can when you need someone to relate to. We might not know each other, but we’re dealing with the same challenges in life. Let’s work on them together!
Who do you lean on when you need a heart to heart?
Beauty is whatever you believe it to be. A sight you see or words you hear. The beauty about life is you’re in control of what you see as beauty. This past Saturday I attended a yoga session on the bluff of Long Beach, Ca. 50 plus attended, practicing together next to the Pacific Ocean. Connecting together; while encouraged to unite within yourself. Releasing built up tension from a busy week. Pushing my thoughts out of my mind and focusing only on me for that hour. I concentrated on listening, ignoring my thoughts about my week of woes. Breathing with the feel of the winds that were blowing through me. I was able to see beauty within myself while thanking myself for being myself. Listening to what my body was telling me through each different pose. Not letting anything get in the way with my beautiful moment to myself, for myself. Once practice was over I felt rejuvenated, satisfied, and happy I went. Even though I hadn’t been there for a few weeks; it didn’t matter because I went today.
Later, stumbling across the internet, I came across a phenomenal young lady. Stephanie Fernandez. A self-taught freelance makeup artist. Seeing makeup in her own unique ways. From fantasy looks, to film, and using objects to describe her moods. The way she paints her vivid thoughts onto her body is a masterpiece. What an inspirational young lady. Visit her website here.
No one in this world we live in is the exact same. That’s the beauty about life.
When you look at yourself in a mirror. What do you see as beauty?
Are you ready for Valentines day? Any special plans you’ll like to share with us? I’ve found some super cute looks for a day that’s dedicated to love.
Happy MondayMe people! It’s a brand new week ahead, and why not start it off right with a great work out. I decided to write out 3 goals for the week. Printing them out and posting them on my refrigerator for an every day reminder.
- Workout everyday at 5am (I’m not a morning person)
- Keep up with my house duties (I’ve been slacking on my cleaning and that’s a no no for me)
- Have a productive week at work (Working really hard everyday with out trying to cut corners).
I haven’t been consistent with my workouts and that’s been affecting my moods lately. I’m determined to change that today so, here I go! Bring on those happy endorphin’s 🙂
What workout routine are you doing right now?
Don’t forget to drink a healthy
We’re all blessed with many talents. It’s up to us to use them wisely. In honor of Dr Martin Luther King, I’m sharing his famous speech “I have a dream”. Dream big, go for what you want in life, and never let anyone tell you it’s not possible.
