The Struggle Is Real

This year so many people I know have been struggling in difficult situations. I’m one of them. Balancing life, love, blogging, relationships, friends, and not having time for myself. A few weeks ago I meet the CEO of my current job along with a few other co-workers. She was asked ” How do you balance your work with having a family?”. Her answer was, ” I don’t think you really want to hear this answer, because there is no balance. You just figure out how to deal with both at the same time. You live and you learn from previous mistakes.” Hearing those words helped me out tremendously, because I’m struggling with not having enough time for me.

I’m working over 50 hours a week, and when the weekend comes have a pile of errands that all need to get done. Then I wonder how am I going to have time for friends or just pampering myself with a mani-pedi? A lot of people depend on my fortitude to help get them through difficult situations. I understand the blessing I have as their motivator. Now I’m wondering if I’ll ever be able to reach a certain point in life where everything comes easy without the unfortunate lack of will power.

I pray daily for the strength to get through worries, and for guidance to make the best decisions, then thank the man above for all the blessings I have.  Seems everyone I’ve been coming across has burdens. But we can’t lose our faith. Believe it, there is light at the end of the tunnel. This too shall pass and we will be able to get through these tough times. I work on becoming a better person daily and I’m not quitting! So our new mantra will be ” The struggle is real, but I will prevail.”

Learn How To Meditate

Do you know how to meditate? When we escape from our thoughts and concerns, we’re allowing ourselves to bring stillness to our minds. This is known as meditation. Meditating can be very challenging to master. We’re all capable of accomplishing by practicing. Understand, meditation is a journey. The purpose is to calm the mind, achieve inter peace, and reach a higher spiritual dimension. You don’t necessary have to sit in a dark room for an hour to reap the benefits of relaxation. You can train your mind to focus solely on your breathing when you need to bring stillness to your thoughts. Start by inhaling deeply, follow by exhaling with the same flow. Bringing your attention solely on your breath, feel your chest raise and fall while your lungs expand and deflate. If your minds starts to wonder with distracting thoughts, channel them by chanting a mantra of choice. Silently repeat the mantra over and over to yourself as you meditate, allowing the word or phrase to whisper through your mind.

For those who are new to meditation, it’s especially important to avoid distractions while practicing. Turn off the TV, your phone, and remove yourself from loud noises. You can listen to calming music or the sound of a small water fountain running. Your meditation space does not need completely silent. All you need is the ability to concentrate on yourself for how ever long you choose to meditate. You should try and meditate at the same time every day. This way your meditation will quickly become a part of your everyday routine and you will feel its benefits much more profoundly.

Start Each Day With A Clean Slate

Yesterday is now in our past. Today is our current future, and tomorrow is not promised to us. Keeping a clear mind each day will open opportunity in our lives.  If you had a rough night, but were blessed to wake up to a new day. You have another chance to make a change. Start this week off with positive ways you can make a difference in your life. Let go of yesterdays baggage and open good fortune towards your future.

Starting today and carrying throughout the rest of our lives. Let go of useless clutter in your mind. Begin with a healthy breakfast to start your day.  Planning ahead. Organize your schedule with a to-do list. Arrive at work ahead of time to get a jump-start on your work load. Maybe even a 10 minute meditation before you start answering your emails, or driving to drop your kids off at school. It’s very important you take time for yourself to clear out unproductive thoughts.

You hold the key to your success. Don’t allow another day to pass without grabbing a hold of yourself and shaking off the negativity. We’re all born with many talents. We just need to bring out our gifts. It starts with a clear mind!

What Is Beauty?

Beauty is whatever you believe it to be. A sight you see or words you hear. The beauty about life is you’re in control of what you see as beauty. This past Saturday I attended a yoga session on the bluff of Long Beach, Ca. 50 plus attended, practicing together next to the Pacific Ocean. Connecting together; while encouraged to unite within yourself. Releasing built up tension from a busy week. Pushing my thoughts out of my mind and focusing only on me for that hour. I concentrated on listening, ignoring my thoughts about my week of woes. Breathing with the feel of the winds that were blowing through me. I was able to see beauty within myself while thanking myself for being myself. Listening to what my body was telling me through each different pose. Not letting anything get in the way with my beautiful moment to myself, for myself. Once practice was over I felt rejuvenated, satisfied, and happy I went. Even though I hadn’t been there for a few weeks; it didn’t matter because I went today.

Later, stumbling across the internet, I came across a phenomenal young lady. Stephanie Fernandez. A self-taught freelance makeup artist. Seeing makeup in her own unique ways. Mental Points For Success

How do you measure success? Do you think someone is successful because they’re rich? Or because they’re happy with what they have? There are many levels of success in life. I don’t measure success by the amount of money someone is worth. I measure success by the happiness in my life and the ones that mean the most to me. If I wasn’t able to give to my family, I wouldn’t be happy with in. I not only want success, I want my loved ones right there with me enjoying success too. Yes, money can buy you lots of opportunity and support your family. But it can’t buy you true love. Here are a few key points I use to help guide me towards peak performance for reaching success.

  1. Goals
    Setting performance/result goals by our actions and determination. Goals make us take risks; not setting goals allows us to float in life with no wish to carry out anything.
  2. Focus and Control
    Focusing on your performance is the outcome of a thought. Bad thoughts= bad performance, good thoughts= good performance. Focus on controlling yourself, which is important when trying to reach your goals.
  3. Expectations
    Expectation takes focus off self and puts it on others who we do not have control over. Expect others to fail you and expect to recover from failure. We can’t learn if we’re not taking risks.
  4. Dedication
    High achievers are willing and want to work hard. If something is worth doing, it is worth doing well. Be confident, have self-discipline, and be dedicated
  5. Responsibility
    We want to feel loved and gain approval from others. We avoid responsibility to protect the love we want from others. But we are not perfect and must be willing to accept consequences.
  6. Attitudes
    A good attitude is when we believe and have hope when others quit. Maintain a not going to give up attitude, and think positively about your decisions.
  7. Learn
    Ask yourself what do I need to do differently next time? What does the right way look like? You have to ask questions. Learn from others who have walked the same path.
  8. Visualization
    Visualize yourself in the situation. A clear picture programs the body and increases chances for success.
  9. Mental Discipline
    Our thoughts influence our actions. Focus on a positive mantra. When faced with pressure see it as a challenge, an opportunity to succeed.
  10. The Winning Way
    A winner has goals, blocks out expectations of others, devotion, responsible, has a good attitude, confidence, prepares, focuses and thinks positively.

It’s never too late to retrain your mind to do better with your life. If you’re blessed to see another day, take full advantage of it and strive for greatness. What steps do you take for reaching your goals?

What Motivates You?

Does fitting into a size smaller dress you bought at a bargain price, motivate you to work out?  How about challenging co-works to the biggest weight loser?  Whatever you use to push yourself, we all still need positive encouragement to stay focused on our goals.  If you don’t have  a reliable workout partner to drag your butt to the gym, you can use other strategies to keep you centered.

Create a workout playlist with upbeat music. I listen to Workout-Dance/Pop created by Natasha Hussein. Listening to music while changing can jump-start your warm up. You’ll be dancing to the beats, pumping yourself up for a great workout ahead.  Also burning calories before you start your workout routine.  Visualize wearing that smaller size dress, strutting your stuff as admirable compliments flow.  Picture a healthier you while imagining how great you’re going to look as you drop those extra pounds. You can even use a role model to help with transitioning to a healthier you. Whom do you admire most?  Post a picture somewhere where you can look daily to remind you why won’t give up until you see results.

Stay far away from negative people while you’re focusing on an improved exterior.  They can have a toxic effect on your interior and cause you to lose track of what’s really important.  Which is self-gratification.  Hey, I don’t write these blog posts for nothing. Use this blog as a tool, knowing I’m here with you struggling in the same life battles.  We can be each others support system. We can do it!

No one else invited. Only yourself, your favorite toys, lube, and maybe a little porn for eye candy. Yes, I’m talking about masturbating; rewarding yourself with a good time. How Not To Hit Or Yell During A Hostile Situation

Ever hear the expression “Patience is a virtue”? This method can be challenging when you’re in a heated situation. The phrase tells us to gather our thoughts and pause before reacting. Frustration, desperation, evil thoughts, or dealing with an antagonizing individual requires deeper thoughts than the surface. During an agitated moment we overcome these obstacles by not letting the problem get the best of our character.  People will push our buttons, scream in our face, belittle our intelligence with insults, or put their hands on us. If we engage in this behavior we’re allowing the situation to get the best of us. Ultimately it puts us in danger.

Once I started practicing Yoga I’ve learned how to focus on my breathing. Yoga taught me to breath deeply when my heart rate is racing uncontrollably. I over came my struggles with anxiety.  Using this exercise brings stillness to my mind and calms a stressful situation for me. Focusing only on my breathing and not frustration really helps with walking away when I’m angry, listening to others without rebuttal, and taking control of the situation at hand. Yes, we all want to set people straight and give them a piece of our minds, but what does fighting accomplish?

Next time you’re dealing with negative gossip among co-workers, road rage, a disagreement with your life partner, or any difficult problem. Take a moment to breathe through it. Try counting to three when you inhale and exhale. Doing so will give you clarity and assist in making the right decision.

Self-confidence is very important in almost every aspect of our lives, and many of us struggle to find it. We build trust and faith in individuals because were confident about them. When it comes to doing what you believe is right-even if you’re criticized about it. Do you go with your qualifications or does low self-confidence kick in and doubt? We all face difficult decisions; although if you’re confident about yourself it makes it much easier to address.

What we want to show you are ways to build that self-esteem up and empower yourself to be better each day. We have came up with 10 steps to prepare you for this journey. In order to be the best you, you must work hard at it and not expect short cuts. No one said it’ll be easy but with the right motivation you’ll feel confident to accomplish any challenges in your future.

 

 

 

  1. Assess your appearance ( Are you happy with your hair, weight, or wardrobe? If not, time for a makeover)
  2. Think about what’s important to you and where you want to go
  3. Find balance in your life and routine
  4. Write down your fears (This allows you to see what could potentially be holding you back)
  5. Positive thinking  (No negative thinking allowed; It really works)
  6. Keep yourself grounded (You can be over-confident and lose your humility)
  7. Do something for the first time ( thank me later 🙂 )
  8. Connect with positive influencers in your life
  9. Look at what you already achieved
  10. Commit to yourself

The Most Common Mental Illness In The Country

Did you know that roughly 40 million U.S adults suffer from anxiety? Making it the most common mental illness in the country. I suffered with anxiety attacks last year: experiencing stress, tension, and panic attacks. Transitioning into a new situation in my past caused a lot of distrust, uneasiness, and fear that it wasn’t going to work out in my best interest. Once I realized I had a problem I expressed it to my friends. That’s when I was introduced to yoga.

Practicing yoga makes a huge difference in my life. It helps control my fast beating heart rate and breathing when I get nervous. I’m able to relax my mind and talk myself through the worry now.  Bikram Yoga is my favorite practice. It includes all the components of fitness: muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and weight loss. 20131209-215949.jpg
